Nila at a tender age has realized that poverty can come in the way of anyone's dream. Instead of going to school, Nila makes the rounds of four to five houses each day and takes care of her father, till her mother and elder sister return. Nila's father has been bedridden for two years now, due to an accident. Since then, life has taken a bitter turn for Nila. The only respite in Nila's life comes from her dream of becoming an air hostess when she grows up.

Kernel Foundation want directly to put children like Nila into the path of empowerment through education through its Mission Education program.

Like Nila, One in five children dropped out of school last year due to high levels of poverty, child marriage, social insecurity and marginalization.[i]

There are 4.7 million or 12.6% of children aged 5 to 14 in Bangladesh working as child labour.[ii] Out of the child labourers engaged in the workforce, 83% are employed in rural areas and 17% are employed in urban areas.[iii]

You can help a child escape from the bonds of poverty through our donation online. It lets you gift life-changing benefits to that child for a low monthly and yearly contribution. Your donation online will ensure that the child receives an education, healthcare as well as nutritional support through every phase of his/her young life.

Help a child discover the joy of learning and join us in our efforts to put Every Child in School.
